The Grocer consumer research reveals concerns over the use of imported egg in egg products

New research from The Grocer, exploring the UK’s attitudes towards eggs, has revealed concerns over the use of imported egg products in pre-prepared supermarket foods, such as egg sandwiches and quiche. 

The research, which explores the UK’s attitudes towards eggs through ten charts, highlights that nearly 60% of consumers are not confident about where the eggs used as ingredients in the products they buy come from, with more than 60% revealing that they would feel quite concerned if their local supermarket made food products using imported eggs.
