BEIC Chief Exec named Poultry Person of the Year

Mark Williams, British Egg Industry Council Chief Executive, has been honoured with the prestigious Poultry Person of the Year at the 2023 Eggs and Poultry Industry Conference.

Mark, who has spent his whole career in the industry, has spent more than 23 years as Chief Executive of the British Egg Industry Council, leading the British egg industry through some of its most successful and challenging periods, will be taking on the role of Chairman of the BEIC in December, replacing Andrew Joret who is retiring after 11 years at the helm.

This year’s EPIC theme was “Food Security – Poultry’s Place in a Sustainable Supply Chain”, with Mark celebrating the strengths of a successful independent UK industry and highlighting some of the challenges it faces as a speaker on the programme alongside Professor Christine Middlemiss, UK’s Chief Veterinary Officer, The Rt Hon Mark Spencer MP, and others.
